Saturday, Game 1: GREEN vs WHITE AND BLACK

Ryan Feltner RHP Walsh FB 84-86 mph

DJ Wilson Canton South smokes a single by the First Baseman.

Cassidy Brown hammers a double with backspin in the left center gap

Griffin Weir RHP FB 87-91mph with a little movement in.When movement has some depth on it
he is pretty tough to put a good swing on

Adrian Calez shows a nice lefty on lefty cange that dissapeared for a strikeout

Nice catch RF Brad Wiekman

Bradley Hamilton rips double down the left field line.

Ryan Felter one hops 385 sign in left center gap for a double

Jayce Vancea RHP FB sits around 86mph, and touches as high as 89mph

DJ Wilson shows good balance at the plate.Nice soft stride.

DJ Wilson just gets underneath it.Flies to deep to center.He runs hard the whole way, and has consistently timed at 4.5 seconds on his turns

Nathan Romans smokes a line drive single into right field

Nice play by SS Tyler Sullivan. Shows good athletic ability.

LHP Joe Mockbee shows he has some potential to be very tough on left hand hitters.

Mockebe shows some athletic ability getting off the mound and making a nice play on short hopper towards home plate

Alex Troop hammers double into right center gap

Jake Courtot lines single into right field

Kyle Michalik lines single into right field.He makes a good hard turn around first base

Alex Troop just misses one,but legs out a triple deep to right field.

Austin Previt has a quick arm that is registering fastball’s in the 87-89 mph range

Lefty Tyler Schuch shows a fastball sitting at 83-84 mph, and has a feel for his secondary pitches

Catcher Ryan Lange throws a 1.97 to 2B between innings, and is receiving very well behind the plate

Ryan Vargo’s fastball sits at 87-88 mph, and has a long lose pitchers build to go with it

Game 1:

Michael Papierski rips single by 3B into left field

Kyle Burson triples into right center gap

RHP FB 86-87 with some movent in on right handed hitters.

Catcher Joe Bruening throws would be base stealer out at third base.He shows good mobility behind the blocking two fastballs in the dirt

Alex Troop smokes a line drive right at the second baseman.He continues to look good up at the plate

LHP Michael Whitaker shows a good feel for his changeup and curveball as he cruises through his second inning of work

SS Nick Blomgren doubles to left then turns in a web gem at SS turning a unassisted double play

Game 2:

DJ Wilson smokes double to right center

Nathan Romans follows with a sharp single to right field

RHP Kade Mcclure FB 86-89mph Finishes up his second inning of work with a sharp curveball freezing the hitter for strike three.

LHP Eli Kraus FB 82-84mph, and shows the ability to throw his offspeed for strikes behind in the count.

SS Kody Bledsoe turns in to solid plays from the SS position

Inf/Of Michael Parron gets a great jump,and steals second base.

SS Niel Lammmbert flashing the leather at SS making to tough plays look routine

OF Brad Wiekman shows good balance at the plate along with good knowledge of the strikezone.

OF DJ Wilson turns what should have been a single into a easy double going into 2B standing up

Game 3:

Adam Vasil rips a RBI single into center

Catcher Justin Mott shows off his speed,and swipes second easy

OF Joe Cahill rips a double over CF head to score two.

OF Carrington Bell goes the other way with a RBI single to right field

OF Gino Sassano rips a single by the third baseman into left field

OF rips another RBI single into left field

RHP Nanak Saran settles down,and throws a solid second inning

All Prospect White vs Midwest Redbirds:

LHP Eli Kraus strikes out the side in the first inning, showing command of three pitches, velocity sat in the low 80s.

DJ Wilson draws a walk and then swipes second base

Wilson scores on a ground ball misplayed on the right side of the infield, good job by Brad Hamilton of moving the baseball with two strikes.

Krause finishes two innings of work with no runs, and no hits.  Shows a low 80s fastball with good command of his breaking ball, as well as the ability to locate his fastball.

DJ Wilson shows good plate discipline drawing a walk, then steals second base easy.

Joe Mockbee smokes a single to right field

Brad hamilton makes a great play diving to tag the runner on a passed ball that kicked back to him off the backstop.

Tyler Sullivan gets a two out RBI with a great piece of hitting taking the outside pitch and hammering it to left field for a single.

Austin Previt shows some life on his FB topping out at 88mph

Redbirds RHP TJ Zeuch throws three solid innings running his FB inside on Right handed hitters,and showing a good feel for his changeup.

RHP Cory Jacobs cruise through his second inning of work.

LHP Andrew Rossman rolls through his one inning of blowing the final hitter of the inning away.

The game ends in a 3 to 3 tie.

ALL PROSPECT RED TEAM VS MIDWEST REDBIRDS

Tom Krokey clears the bases with a ringing double into the right center gap to giving All Prospect White a 3-0 lead heading into the bottom of the first inning.

RHP Conner Faix strikes out two in his first inning of work.

Conner Faix uses his mid 80’s FB, with a plus breaking to strike out the side for his second scoreless inning

Jett Swetland continues to show a mature show approach at the plate, works into another hitters count before eventually walking

Tyler Sullivan turns on the ball and drives one over the right fielders head for a triple

Nate Romans clears the bases with a deep drive to right, and shows the ability to hit balls hard to both sides of the field after lining out to short early on

Redbirds RHP Robert Zeigler shows a fastball that sits at 88-89mph with a loose arm a big time 12 to 6 breaking that has been very effective as his out pitch for the day.

Orange and Gray

Brett Helton starts the scoring for the orange team by ripping a single to left

Jayce Vancena shows the ability to throw his breaking ball for a strike, while sitting 86-88 mph during his first inning of work

Michael Whitaker throws two scoreless innings getting out of jam to end his outing

Corbin Angermeir uses his height to pitch down hill with his fast ball to throw a scoreless inning

Mike Izzareli shows some pop driving a double to left

RHP Saran throws two scoreless to keep game tied at one, has an athletic build that projects out well

Thomas Keaney is impressive during his two scoreless innings for the orange team.  Locates his pitches well while sitting 81-82mph on his fastball

Corey Welsh rips a single up the middle resulting an a RBI for the Gray Team

Will Haueter gets on top a pitch to drill it down the right field line for an RBI

Luke Redmond gets his second solid hit of the day by shooting a single through the right side

Izzareli shows off his speed, but gets thrown out stretching a triple into a inside the park homerun

Kendric Allgood Jr. Pitches two scoreless innings in relief setting up his team for a chance to win

Garret Koutsopoulos closes the door on great ball game by closing the 7th for the 6-5 Orange Team win

GAME 1; SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 16TH:

Mark Mittiga set to start for the Blue Team

Michael Parron leads the game off with a line drive single to RF

Parron picks a good pitch to steal on taking 2B

Mittiga keeps ball down in zone to induce ground ball to Michalik who fields it and makes strong throw across for the out

Good block by trimble, keeping the runner at second base

Tarnapol drives one deep to center that Delacerna tracks down for an out, but deep enough to allow the runner to tag and score from 3B. Gives gray team 1-0 lead

Sykora shows fastball sitting 81-84 from a 3/4 arm slot. Shows good feel for breaking pitch, and rolls a double play ground ball using the slider his slider.

Michalik jumps on a high fastball and lines it over short-stops head, goes hard out of the box and stretches in to a double

Mittiga starts to show a lower side arm slot, and freezes a hitter on a slider from down under

Hauter jumps on a fast ball up in the zone and lines it to left for an RBI single

Kelly draws a lead off walk, carney hits a hanging breaking ball to center for a single

Sykora works out of a jam by striking out a batter on a high fast ball, then getting a ground ball to 3B for final out of the inning

Gray leads 3-0 after 2 innings

Rossman (LHP-2013) starts the 3rd inning for the blue team, and gets a fly ball to right for the first out of the inning.

Pettry leads off the bottom of the 3rd inning with an infield single

Nice block by Brendan Lange, has been showing very good defensive skills behind the plate

Delacerna gets on base by drawing a walk

Lange shows nice arm strength and quick release throwing behind the runner at 1B, and nearly picking him off

Dolan has second nice feed of the day to second base to nearly turn his second double play of the game

Trimble places one to left field for a double that scores to runs

Side-armer Crae Watkins enters the game to pitch for the gray team

Jake Courtot lines one to right for an RBI single

Dominic Mittiga lines one to right field, and reads the throw from the outfield to take 2B

Michael Whitaker shows plus pitch ability, and a fastball that sits 82-85mph

ORANGE vs RED Player Summary 9/16:

Tyler Schuch shows plus outfield arm from right field, rounds a ball off in the right field corner and throws a strike to second nearly taking away a double from orange team player.

Sadowski hits his second ball of the day hard, lefty hitter lines out to center, and pulls another liner down the right field line

Sevichek shows solid approach, and nice swing from the left side, drives a double to right center to score a run.

RED VS GRAY GAME 1 SEPTEMBER 23RD

0-0 after top of 1st inning, Marcus Inman the only hit for the Red Team when he turns a high fast ball to line it to left

Chris Elam strikes out two of three in the 1st inning for the red, pounding zone down in the zone

Angemeir continues to cruise by keeping his fastball down in the zone while working ahead in counts

Saran shows a good two strike breaking ball by freezing a hitter for strike 3

Vasil has a quality 10 pitch at bat

Dolan singles one to left for an RBI single

GAME 2 GRAY AND RED: RED 5- GRAY 2

Parron has shown strong bat and good instincts on the bases throughout both games.  Hits his 2nd double of the day.

Sykora has good movement on fastball from his 3/4 arm slot, when working ahead hitters breaking ball can be very effective

LHP Margevicius pounds the zone with all three pitches breezing through his innings of work.  Shows polished delivery with good mound presence.

Sadowski repeats delivery very well and works both sides of the plate, has the potential to be a solid LHP at the next level

Hudec crushes a ball to right field clearing the right fielder as well as the bases for an inside the park grand slam.

GREEN TEAM RECAP:

5 GREEN- ORANGE 4

3 ORANGE- GREEN 2

Skuhrovec works 2 innings for 9 batters and 9 outs. Worked quickly, keeping fielders in the game to make plays for him. Had very good downward action on his fb getting 4 of 6 batters to result in ground ball outs.

Fabian works 2 innings having four strikeouts. Pounds the zone with his fb. Regularly threw on the inner half, which kept hitters very uncomfortable in the box. At the plate showed an advanced approach by taking an outside pitch to rf for an rbi single.

Longo has the big hit of the day. A two run triple to deep right center. Very aggressive left handed swing, and has fast twitch actions, which keep him compact with his barrel to the ball on a consistent basis.

ORANGE TEAM:

 

Garret Kosopolis and Erik Fehlan combined on a 5 inning no hitter. Kosopolis used his tall lean frame and knack for throwing strikes. Fastball showed good  downward action keeping hitters off balance. Gave up 2 unearned runs.
Tommy Murphy displayed smooth actions behind the dish throwing runner out at 2b. Also has above average blocking skills handles pitchers very well.
Luke Redmond showed very smooth and aggressive actions in the field, making several key plays throughout entire game.
Joe Bruening led the orange team with 2 hits. Hits from a wide base which allows him to be short and quick to the baseball.
